Functions

Non-destructive investigation of metal surface:

  • verificationn of number authenticity;
  • detection of number alteration by machining process, non-ferromagnetic inclusions, weld seam;
  • determination of technology used to alter the number;
  • restoration of original numbers in case their relief stands out insufficiently because of corrosion, lacquer coating etc.

For additional functions device can be expanded by:

  • spectral luminescence magnifiers Regula-4177 for documents investigations;
  • eddy-current magnetographing device Regula-7515M. This device provides magnetographing process for conductive objects and increases sensitivity of magnetographing for ferromagnetic objects;
  • peripherals Regula-7516 for additional investigations;

Methods

  • reproduction of induced stray magnetic fields of the object under investigation at an intermediate magnetic carrier;
  • magnetic-optical visualization (MOV) of magnetic copies and induced magnetic stray fields of the object under investigation by Faraday effect appearing in crystal bismuth garnet ferrite films;
  • outputting and processing of object images obtained by above-mentioned methods into a personal computer (PC). Research of obtained images by means of the software: measurement, comparison, etc.

  • material of research objects - ferromagnetic alloys and electro-conductive alloys (eddy-current magnetographing device Regula-7515M is needed);
  • width of intermediate magnetic tape - 25,4 mm (1”) and 12,65 mm (1/2”) in the case of using paper tape cartridge 1/2”;
  • input time of numbers plate - about 15 s;
  • spatial resolution of MOV – not less than 16 mkm (for image format 1280 õ 1024);
  • consumed electric power on the USB-bus, no more than 2.5 W;

Features

  • the efficiency of realization of researches by a MOV-method in a combination with compactness of hardware, power autonomy and opportunity of use of the electronic guides and databases, allows to apply it in conditions of the linear control;
  • the not-destroying MOV-technology allows to keep integrity of paint cover of the automobile in interests of the owners and gives an opportunity, if necessary, to make another researches including chemical research of paint cover uniformity;
  • high effectiveness of results of researches by a MOV-method allows to find out attributes inaccessible for traditional methods, for example under a rusts, that taking place in a superficial layer.
